Elizabeth Milton is a well-known photographer from London, who is being compelled to move to India with her husband Derek. Is in Bengal where she would live one of the biggest struggles of her life; being abandoned there by the person who was her only support while she is severely ill; opening her eyes to the harsh reality of how damaged her marriage was. Elizabeth then sinks into a depression from where only one person can drag her out; Kiran, one of her servants, who will soon start to become something more for her.
